Mrs. Harry Martin, 59, of Edinburg Rd., RD 2, the former Grace Riding, died at 2:15 a.m. today in St. Francis Hospital after an illness.
She was born in Butler County, Jan. 8, 1906, to Mrs. Christina Foster Riding and the late Edward Riding. Her first husband was Sherman Grossman. She married Harry Martin in 1936.
She was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church in New Castle and was formerly employed by the Standard Steel Spring Co. and Chenango Ceramics, Inc.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Robert Martin of Bellflower, Calif., Sherman Grant Grossman and Richard Edward Grossman of Slippery Rock; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Geraldine Webb, Mrs. Thelma Grace Bell of Forrestville, Pa., Mrs. Alma Louise Parton of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Lydia Christine Book of New Castle; her mother, Mrs. Christina Riding of Butler County; six sisters, Mrs. Ruth Rosandik of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Lucille Brown of Butler, Mrs. Louise Magill and Mrs. Betty Cochran , both of Meridian, PA. Mrs. Harriet Knisley of Gilbralter, Mich., and Mrs. Shirley Skillman of New Castle; seven brothers, William, Donald and Thomas Riding of butler, Walter and Charles Riding of Akron, John Riding of Bellflower, Calif., and Harry Riding of Butler.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The family will receive friends at McGonigle's, Beaver and W. Falls Streets.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
