Miss Nell Brown
Miss Nell Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a former resident of Sandersville, died on April 24, 1980. She had been a Center City resident for many years and was formerly employed by the city of Philadelphia.
Miss Brown was born in Dublin and reared in Sandersville. She was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Lucretia Frances Key Brown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sidney, R.M. and Hal Brown and by her sisters, Frances Brown, Lucile Brown Adams, Marie Brown Peterson and Callie Brown Sheffield. Surviving are a sister, Camilla, Mrs. D. Baron Oxner of Batesburg, S.C., a niece, Mrs. Francelle Adams Wiley of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and three nephews, Dr. Phillip Adams Jr. of San Louis Obispo, California, Robert M. Brown, III of San Antonio, Texas and Lt. Col. Hal Brown of San Diego, California, as well as a number of cousins in Sandersville.
A memorial service was held in Philadelphia and interment was Sunday, May 4 in Sandersville at the Old City Cemetery with the Rev. John Bartlett, pastor of the Christian Church officiating.
Mayo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
