ROBERT M BROWN DIED LAST SATURDAY

Former Justice of the Peace of Sandersville District Is Survived By Large Family - Burial Wednesday

News was received in Sandersville Sunday morning that Judge Robert Mitchell Brown had passed away at Milledgeville the previous night. In former years he was Chief of Police in Sandersville, but later moved to Dublin, where he conducted a store for several years. Later he returned to Sandersville and continued his mercantile business until elected Justice of the Peace several years ago, a position which was held by him until his health became too feeble for the discharge of the duties of the office, his successor having been elected only a few weeks ago. Judge Brown was a native of Sandersville and had witnessed it grow from a small village to its present dimensions, many improvements having been made within that period of time. He was ever courteous and affable in his dealings with his fellowman, and possessed a vein of humor which made him a favorite with those who knew him best. His passing away is mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends. He is survived by his widow and several children, nearly all of whom are grown. The remains reached Sandersville Monday afternoon. The burial will take place today, having been delayed so as to give some of the absent children time to reach here to attend the funeral services.
