Statesboro - Mrs. Nita Woodcock Prather, 97, died Jan. 21 at Sunbridge Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County. She was a graduate of Breneau College and taught school for several years. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Ideal Cleaners in Statesboro for more than 30 years. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Cora Williams Circle. She was the widow of George Wilson Prather.
Survivors: two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah P. and Claud Loper of Camilla, and George Ann and Marshall Thigpen of Statesboro; a sister, Berta Lee McElveen of Sylvania; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 4 p.m. Sunday at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, burial in the Eastside Cemetery.
