Mrs. Martha Ellen Reed, 47, wife of Alvin B Reed, died at her home in Franklin township, near Arendtsville, at 12:40 this morning, following a week's illness of peritonitis. Mrs. Reed was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David R Beyers, and was born and spent her life in Franklin township.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Miss Esther May Reed, Miss Ruth Elizabeth Reed and Miss Mary Rosaline Reed, all at home, and by three brothers, John Beyers, Orrtanna; Charles B Beyers, Tampa, Florida, and David R Beyers, Hanover.
She was a member of the Mummasburg Mennonite church.
Brief services from the Reed home, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00, with further services in the Mennonite church, Mummasburg, the Rev. Amos Myer officiating. Interment in the Mummasburg cemetery.
