Mrs. Martha Hartman Byer, widow of David R Byer, died early Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alvin Reed, of near Arendtsville after a lingering illness. She was aged 75 years, 1 month and 18 days.
Her husband died eighteen years ago. She was a daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Hartman and was born and reared near Cashtown.
She leaves one daughter and three sons; Mrs. Martha E Reed, with whom she made her home;
John H Byer, Orrtanna; Charles, Knoxville, Tenn.; David A, Hanover. She also leaves the following sisters and brother; Mrs. Catherine Minter, Abilene, Kansas; Mrs. Sarah E Hoke, Frederick;
Miss Amanda Hartman and John I Hartman, of Mummasburg.
Funeral Sunday, meeting at the house at 12:00. Services in the Mennonite church, Mummasburg, of which she was a member. Interment in the Mummasburg Cemetery.
