Mrs. Susan Federspeil (sic), widow of the late John Federspeil, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Angeline Schwindermann, in this city, Monday evening, March 12.
Deceased was in her eighty-seventh year, having been born in Baden, Germany, on Sept. 27, 1827. She came to this country with her parents, John and Margaret Baches at the age of fifteen and settled at Cedarburg, this state. She was married to John Federspeil in 1864 (ERROR), by Bishop Henni?, and moved on a farm in Manitowoc county. After her husband’s death in 1861, she sold her farm and moved to St. Nazianz where she resided up to about eighteen months ago, when she went to Racine for a few months, visit with her son Peter Federspeil, then spent two months with her grandson, Dr. M. H. Federspeil at Milwaukee, coming here March 15, 1913, and was here just a year and a day when she died.
Deceased was sick but three days and passed away peacefully a half an hour after receiving the Last Sacraments of the Church of which she had been a devout member all of her life.
Surviving her are two sons, Peter of Racine, John, of Little Falls, Minn., and two daughters, Mrs. Angeline Schwindermann of this city, and Mrs. William Reich of Manitowoc, besides thirty-three grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, a brother Math. Baches, of Milwaukee and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Schaer of Manitowoc.
The funeral was held Friday morning at 9:30 from Immaculate Conception Church.—Algoma Herald.
