According to Harper family records, including the writings of two of Emmaline's sisters, Rachel's biological father was George Alfred Green.
Obituary:
Rachel Harper, a young girl just 19 years of age, and a resident of Holladay village died early Wednesday after suffering from appendicitis the last 10 days. Miss Harper was admitted to Murray Hospital one week ago complaining of incontinence and stomach pain. An operation performed Monday by Dr. W. C. Ferrebee, was to no avail, and the girl's condition deteriorated until the hour of her death. The nine weeks prior to her death Miss Harper had been in the apprenticeship of A. A. Grimes, Butlerv., where she was studying theater and performance. For the past three years the girl has made her home with the company of Mr. George Harper's family, the husband being her uncle. She is survived by her mother, of Salt Lake, and extended family of the Cottonwood area. The body was under the charge of Jos. E. Taylor, and services were held privately at the family home before burial at the side of her grandfather, a pioneer of 1847.
