Eugene Thompson, 69, Buried At Ottawa

Eugene Thompson, Mt. Vernon, died suddenly at his home last Thursday. He was 69.

Mr. Thompson, a retired farmer who lived most of his life in the county, was born the son of Hiram and Susan Thompson. He married Judie Brown in 1908, who survives.

He is survived by one son, Sherman of Brodhead; six daughters; Mrs. Elvira Elder, Brodhead; Mrs. May Phelps, Crawfordsville, Ind.; Mrs. Opal Hamm, Richmond, Ind.; Mrs. Martha Stevens, Lexington; Mrs. Mary Patton, Frankfort, Ind.; and Mrs. Marie Price, Mt. Vernon. One sister, Mrs. Sally Murrell, Ladoga, Ind., also survives, as well as 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Thompson, who was a member of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Church, were held at the Ottawa Baptist Church Saturday with Rev. Martin Stepp officiating. He was buried in Ottawa Cemetery, The Sparks Funeral Home had charge of Arrangements.
