LeeRoy Marshall, age 71, of Allisonia, went to his eternal home on May 9, 2011 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for three and a half years.

Born June 13, 1939 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Stanley Marshall and Gracie Henley Marshall.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Denise Marshall Goad; one brother, Ray Marshall; one sister, Susie Bowlen; and sisters-in-law, Judy Lawson Marshall and Carolyn Marshall.

He was retired from Long Airdox Co. with 31 years of service as a Maintenance supervisor at the Hillsville plant. After his retirement, he drove a school bus for nine years for Pulaski County.

He had a special love for the children. He enjoyed talking to people and helping them out. Also, he enjoyed camping with family, working on his old cars and restoring them, going to car shows and cruise-ins with his friends. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and Bluegrass music and was a big fan of Virginia Tech football.
He was a member of the Hiwassee Church of the Brethren for many years and presently was a member of the Max Creek Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Evelyn Jarrells Marshall, Allisonia; two grandsons, Steven Lee Cronk, Allisonia, and Michael Aaron Goad, Riner; his special brother, Edward Marshall, Hillsville; brother, Charles Marshall, Laurel Fork; sisters, Judy Quesenberry, Hillsville, and Helen Brooks, Hillsville; many special nieces, nephews; special sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Turman, Allisonia, Joan and Roger Fowler, Dublin, Rhonda and Richard Surface, Dublin, Donald and Peggy Jarrells, Pulaski; his dog, Miss Pretty, that he loved dearly; and many special friends.
