Liberty-Russell Cornett, 67, 407 W. Sycamore St., died Wednesday July 24, at his home.
He was born in Harlan Co., KY., and had worked for the D&L Paint Co., in Liberty for 12 years. He retired in 1986.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the VFW in Richmond and the Nashville Songwriters Association.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Louise Cornett; three sons, Sgt. Maj. Russell T. Cornett of Ft. Stewart, GA., Tim Cornett of Connersville and Tom Cornett of West Manchester, Ohio; three daughters, Anna L. Hofer of Liberty, Betty Proffitt of Centerville, and Velvet Uhrig of Hollansburg, Ohio; four brothers, Denver, Junior, and Lee Cornett, all of Connersville, and Harold Cornett of Liberty; one sister, Berths Hudson, of Fort Worth Texas; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A brother Ed Cornett, is deceased.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Showalter-Blackwell, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty with Kent Uhrig of Hollansburg, Ohio, officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery with military rites by the VFW and American Legion posts of Liberty.
