OBITUARY:
John Gilbert Gulbranson, son of Thor and Betsy Gulbranson, was born in Moody County on July 27, 1884. He has resided in this county all of his life. He was married to Olive Amundson in 1912. He operated the Riverview Store until 1930 and worked for the Flandreau Creamery until his retirement in 1950.
SURVIVORS:
He is survived by his wife, Olive; six sons, Irvin, Capt. U. S. Army in Japan; Gordon, Sioux Falls; John Jr., Omaha; Claude, Sioux Falls; Oliver, Camden, N. J.; and Francis, Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Lou Ella) Nace, Flandreau; Mrs. George (Margaret) Smith, Pennsauken, N.J.; and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Taylor, San Leandro, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Harold Headrick and Mrs. Roy Headrick, Flandreau, and Mrs. Inga Stewart, Oelwein, Iowa; four brothers, Alfred, Colman; Conrad, Lake Campbell; Tilman, Flandreau and Carl, Canova; and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Frederic, three sisters and two brothers.
