ROSE HILL, VA. Pauline E. Harris, 84, died Monday (Jan. 11, 1999) at Lee County Community Hospital. A lifelong resident of Lee County, she was a member of Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church, where she had served as Sunday school superintendent, teacher, organist and pianist. She attended Sue Bennett College and was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University. She was a retired teacher in the Lee County School System and was a member of the Rose Hill Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard B. Harris; her parents, Mac S. and Mollie Scales Edens; a sister, Kathleen E. Harris; and two brothers, Robert B. Edens and James Kenneth Edens. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Snyder Harris, Rose Hill, VA.; a daughter, Judy Carter, Martinsville, VA.; two sons, Robert S. Harris Jr., and wife Betty, Houston, Texas, and Paul Harris, and wife Kay, Jonesville, VA.; seven grandsons, Keith, Mark, Barton, Jason, Andy, Alex and Shawn Harris; two step-grandsons, Chris and Terry Cook; two granddaughters, Virginia and Elizabeth Carter; three great-grandchildren, Logan and Miranda Harris and Austin Cook; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Hazel Edens, Lorido, Fla., and Drs. Wallace W. and Eleana Edens, Alexandria, VA.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Edgar Bacon, Lucille and Robert Graham, Ruth and Ben Davidson, all of Jonesville, VA.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Lee Family Cemetery, Rose Hill, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family suggests contributions be made to Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church, c/o Victor Harbor, P.O. Box 399, Rose Hill, VA.
