FARMER
Clyde Lee Farmer, age 69, of 118 Savannah Street, Toccoa, passed away in a local hospital late Sat. afternoon. Mr. Farmer's death came a few hours after he had suffered a heart attack. The son of the late Isaac Leon and Martha Walker Farmer, he was born Dec. 17, 1900, in Habersham County, and had lived the greater part of his life in Stephens County. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Chopped Oak Baptist Church and a member of the Toccoa Masonic Lodge. He was a telegraph operator for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad for a number of years. For some 15 years prior to his death, he was affiliated with Lawson Motor Company in Toccoa.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel York Farmer, two daughters, Mrs. Clydene Bandy of Atlanta; Miss Carolyn Farmer of Atlanta and the residence; one son, Clyde Junior, of Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Earn Farmer of Toccoa; Rom of Toccoa; and Bernice of Toccoa; one sister, Mrs. John Sosebee of Toccoa; one grandchild, Johny Bandy, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tue. morning at 11 o'clock from the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Virgle T. Cleveland and Rev. Kelly Barnes officiating. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Ike Farmer, Ralph Farmer, Freddie Farmer, Bill Farmer, Sam Sosebee, and Paul Farmer. The honorary escort was composed of the Toccoa Masonic Lodge. Interment was in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements with Toccoa Masonic Lodge in charge of services.
