Mrs. Mary Ann Mahaney, widow of John Mahaney, died on Tuesday, Nov. 30th, at the farm home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Patterson, aged 72 years, 8 months and 15 days. The funeral took place this Thursday forenoon at 11 o'clock at the M. E. church with interment in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

Mrs. Mahaney's maiden name was Mary Ann Ostrander. She was born April 15, 1843, in Brownville, New York. There she was married to John Mahaney on Nov. 25, 1868. They came at once to Lodi, Wis., whither her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garet H. Ostrander, had come three years earlier. Mr. and Mrs. Mahaney settled on a farm in West Point where they lived until sixteen years ago when they purchased a home in Lodi village and retired from the farm. Here Mrs. Mahaney continued her home until about six weeks ago when, becoming very ill, she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Patterson, where, as above stated, her death occurred Nov. 30th.

Mrs. Mahaney had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since her girlhood. She was the mother of five children--John Henry, deceased; Mary Elizabeth, now Mrs. William H. McFarlane; Elsie Margaret, now Mrs. Frank W. Patterson; Wilbert T., deceased, and Archie Eugene. The three surviving children all live in this vicinity. She also leaves seven grandchildren and one brother, the latter being Wilbert H. Ostrander of Portland, Oregon.
