"Mrs. Frank Patterson" obituary, The Lodi (Wisconsin) Enterprise, 10 May 1923, page 8, column 1.

After a short illness with acute heart trouble, Mrs. Frank Patterson died at her home in this village about 1 o'clock Wednesday morning, May 2d. She was able to be around and perform her work until within two weeks of her death.

Mrs. Patterson's maiden name was Elsie Margaret Mahaney. She was born in West Point Oct. 27, 1874, and was 48 years, 6 months and 5 days old at the time her death. Her parents, John and Mary Mahaney, were born at Watertown, N. Y. Her father died Nov. 15, 1911, and her mother Nov. 30, 1915. Two brothers, Wilbert and John, also preceded her in death.

On March 15, 1893, she was united in marriage to Frank W. Patterson. To this union four children were born. One daughter, Lila Frances, died in infancy. After their marriage they lived on a farm in the town of Dane until 1916 when they moved to the village of Lodi. They have lived here since with the exception of one year again spent on the farm.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Lodi Presbyterian church. Her industrious and upright life; her kindly and unselfish spirit won for her a large circle of friends. She is survived by her bereaved husband, one son, Elmer George; two daughters, Ruth Marion Gunderson and Sadie Gwendolyn Padley; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary McFarlane; and one brother, Archie Eugene.

The funeral services were held Friday afternoon, May 4th. After a short service at the home, Rev. A. G. Adams officiating, the funeral sermon was preached in the Presbyterian church by Rev. G. R. Carver who had preached the funeral sermons of both her mother and mother-in-law. Music was furnished by Mrs. Arthur McComb and Mrs. Clarence B. Steele with Miss Lillian Hinrichs at the piano. The pallbearers were: Roy McFarlane, Richard Zoellner, Harvey Loper, Henry Gluth, Johnson Bowman, and Chauncey Miller.
