JOHN G. REYNOLDS
John G. Reynolds, son of William Lafayette and Mary Bland Reynolds, was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, April 9th, 1879, and passed away Jan. 8th, 1964 at his home in Chariton, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, eight months and eight days.
On March 23, 1904, he was united in marriage to Bertha L. Morris. To this union three children were born: Gail of Long Beach, Calif., Carl of Henderson, Ky., and Madge, who passed away April 12, 1959.
After marriage they lived in Wayne County, later moving to a farm near Russell and have lived in Chariton for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers, three half-brothers and one half-sister.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two sons, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Brisindine, by a previous marriage, of near Lineville. Also one sister, one brother, two granddaughters, Mrs. Betty Manning of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Eunice Smith of Des Moines, three grandsons, Kenneth Reynolds of Millerton and Keith Reynolds of Valparaiso, Ind., and Glenn Brisindine of Charles City, nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Miley Chapel with the Rev. Paul Ellis officiating. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
