Eugene Arnold Died in Hospital After Operation
Eugene Arnold, 62, an uncle of DeLoss, Ivan and Don Arnold, of Alexandria, died in the City Hospital at Indianapolis Friday of pneumonia, which developed after he had undergone a goitre operation there a few days ago. The body was brought to his former home at Elwood last night, and is at the Clark funeral home there today. It was expected that the funeral would be held at Elwood Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Arnold, who was a painter and paperhanger by trade, lived in Elwood for a number of years, but had more recently lived in Indianapolis. His wife, a former Elwood young woman, was burned to death in an accident at Indianapolis in 1929, when her clothing caught fire from a stove in the kitchen.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. Veta Wyatt, who married Frank Wyatt, of Alexandria, Mrs. Wanda Richardson and Leonard Todd, all of whom live in Indianapolis. In addition to the nephews here, he has a number of friends and acquaintances in Alexandria.
