Loreta M. Tyrel, 82
NORTH CREEK - Loreta M. Tyrel, 82, died Wednesday Nov. 21, 2001 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center here.
Born Jan. 10, 1919 in Johnsburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Cordie (Russell) Dalaba.
Mrs. Tyrel enjoyed knitting, listening to country music and square dancing. She attended the day care program at Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center before becoming a permanent resident. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Preston Tyrel, one son, Arthur Tyrel, a stepson, Elmer Tyrel, one stepdaughter, Doris Heath; a grandson Arthur Tyrel, six brothers, Irwin, Grover, Cleon, Preston, Glen, and Sheldon Dalaba; and a sister, Ruth Robinson.
Survivors include a son, Roger Tyrel, and his wife, Regina, of North Creek; a stepson, David Tyrel, and his wife, Linda, of North Creek; two daughters, Hilda VanDerwarker, and her husband, Leon, of Pottersville, and Wanda Haynes and her husband, Leslie, of Colonie; a stepdaughter, Lilian Boatwright, of West Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Gerald Dalaba, of Pottersville; three sisters, Althea Monroe of North Creek; Shirley Wheeler of Pottersville, and Patricia Mosher and her husband, Levi, of Johnsburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24 at Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Pine St., Chestertown with the Rev. Wayne Schoonmaker, pastor of Calvary Bible Church in Wevertown, officiating.
Interment will be in the Tyrel Family Cemetery, Bird Pond Road in North Creek.
