He died Sept. 20, 2004, at his home, surrounded by his wife and family.
Born Nov. 13, 1919, in Lyman, he was the 10th of 11 children of George William and Sarah Lovina (Phillips) Ellingford; and was raised and educated there.
On June 28, 1941, he married Luella Mae Smith in Randolph, Utah. She preceded him in death in 1975, after 34 years of marriage.
He worked as a farmer, carpenter and fix-it man before starting a small construction company with his brothers, which became one of the largest in the state. He also owned and operated Sunset Motel in Evanston.
On April 7, 1975, he married Geraldine Hoppie in Elko, Nev. They later divorced.
In 1986, he fell in love with the southwest, well water and climate of Beaver Dam, Ariz. He operated the old Curt's RV Park there before retiring at age 80 to Mesquite.
He married Barbara Huffman Stevens in Beaver Dam on July 19, 1992.
He was known as a devoted family man and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ellingford of Mesquite; former wife, Geraldine Ellingford of Beaver Dam; seven daughters and six sons, Eileen Cornelison, Linda Porter, Terry Porter, and Kathy Aaron and their spouses, all of Evanston, Jana Ellingford of LaVerkin, Utah, Troy Ellingford and his wife of Hurricane, Utah, Tammy Giebink and her husband and Billy Ellingford, both of Beaver Dam, Pam Murray and her husband of Syracuse, Utah, Kirk Spencer and his wife of Beaver Dam, Calvin Spencer and Richard Stevens and their wives, both of Salt Lake City, and Christopher Stevens of Las Vegas; 31 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Pete Ellingford of Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a grandson.
Memorial services for former Wyoming resident William Curtis Ellingford Sr., 84, of Mesquite, Nev., will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Episcopal Church in Evanston.
