Linda Lou Ellingford Potter
June 6, 1946 ~ March 15, 2017

Linda Lou Ellingford Porter returned to her heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 15. She was born in Coalville, Utah on June 9, 1946, to Curt and Louella Ellingford.

Linda was a 1964 graduate of Evanston High School. Afterwards she went on to graduate from Hollywood Beauty School in 1966 where she received her license as a practicing beautician.

Linda married the love of her life Bill Gene Porter on November 18, 1966, at the Evanston LDS Stake Center. This past November Linda and Bill celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Together they had three wonderful children. Their children were their life and love.

Linda worked for many years as a beautician, first at the ‘Kut & Kurl’ and then from her own home salon. For many years Linda also enjoyed being an Avon Consultant.

Linda’s shy smile, soft voice and sweet demeanor were her signature trademarks. She was kind, caring and compassionate to all who were blessed to know her.

Linda enjoyed reading, sewing and being around family. Linda’s greatest accomplishments were being a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She adored her three children and truly gave her heart and soul to them. Linda’s measure of love stretched far beyond the journey most mothers will travel. Her depth of strength, personal sacrifice and perseverance were infinite. She will be missed dearly, but we are comforted knowing that she is now at peace with her three children in her arms.

Linda is survived by her husband Bill Porter, granddaughter Macey Lutey, siblings Eileen Corneilson, Terry (Darrell) Porter, Wendy (Phil) Danielson and Don Moore.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Curt and Louella Ellingford, her daughter Mellissa Porter; son Mark Porter, son Justin Porter; sister Kathy Aaron, brother-in-law Jack Corneilson and sister-in-law Rita Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Crandall Funeral Home on Friday, March 24. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 at Crandall Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery.
