PENICK

Aileen Audrey Allen, daughter of William E. and Anna Mary Taylor Allen, was born January 23, 1903 at Lucas, Iowa and died September 29, 1975, at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton at the age of 72.

She grew up in the Lucas community and attended grade and high school there.

She was united in marriage to Wilbert Penick in 1925. The couple lived in various palces in Iowa and Indiana for several years, and then settled on a farm at Woodburn. Mrs. Penick was living in Chariton at the time of her death.

She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church of Lucas, and while living in Chariton she was active in one of the circles of the Christian Church.

She had belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star in Woodburn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert in 1962; two brothers, Edwin and Earl; and one sister, Ardis Rogers.

She is survived by one sister, Mildred Towne of Jamaica, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Janie Allen of Lucas, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held October 1, at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, with the Rev. Fred Mansfield officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
