ARDIS ROGERS
Ardis Elizabeth Allen, daughter of W. E. and Anna Allen, was born Aug. 4, 1899 in Lucas, Ia., and passed away in Des Moines, March 21, 1957 at the age of 57 years, seven months and 17 days.
She lived in Lucas the greater part of her early life, except for a few years spent in Woodburn, Ia. After living in Chariton for a short time, she moved to Des Moines in 1943.
She was married to H. A. Rogers, May 26, 1921 and to this union four children were born, Charles of Lucas, Ruth of Washington, D.C., Rodney of Des Moines and Mrs. Barbara Anthony, also of Des Moines.
At an early age she united with the Lucas Presbyterian church and later transferred her membership to the Highland Park Presbyterian church in Des Moines.
The survivors include her four children, four grandchildren, two brothers, Earl and Edwin Allen of Lucas, two sisters, Mrs. Aileen Penick of Woodburn and Mrs. Mildred Towne of Jamaica, Ia., besides her many friends who have known her and worked with her.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, were held Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m., at the Miley Chapel. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
