Mrs. Edna Jane Metzler, 87, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Metzler, 210 Wabash Ave, Wakarusa, after a lengthy illness. Born on Dec. 25, 1875, in Elkhart County, she was married to Enos Metzler in 1894. He died on Sept. 18, 1947. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Retha Duckwall, El Paso, TX; four sons, Harvey, Elkhart, Paul, Union City, MI, and Walter and Elmer, both of Wakarusa; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Miss Florence Wickel, Winona Lake, and Mrs. Lydia Hager, Elkhart. She was a member of the United Missionary Church of Wakarusa for many years. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lienhart Funeral Home in Wakarusa until the service at 2 p.m. (The Wakarusa Tribune: 27 February 1963)
