Mrs. Alma K Newman, 91, of Franklin St., Biglerville, died Saturday afternoon at the Golden Age Nursing Home, Hanover, where she had been a guest for two weeks.
She was born in Adams County, daughter of the late Curtis P and Effie Kittinger Sowers.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Biglerville and her husband the late Paul G Newman Sr., died in July of 1971.
Surviving are children, Mrs. Ray (Jean) Baldwin of 124 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, Paul G Newman, Jr. of 169 Hanover St., Gettysburg, Clair E Newman of Fort Pierce, Florida, Mrs. Charles (Elsie) Sterner of Franklin St., Biglerville, Dale C Newman of Gardners R2, Mrs. Gerald (Martha) Nary of York, Pa., Herbert T. Newman of Main St., Biglerville and Mrs. Robert (Winifred) Weikert of Fairfield;
18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, brother, J Clair Sowers of State College, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 at the Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, with Rev. Frederick S. Weiser, officiating. Interment will be in Flohr’s Cemetery.
