Paul G Newman, 85, S. Main St., Biglerville, died Friday evening at 9:20 at Michael Manor Convalescent Home. He had been a guest there for two months.
He was born in Adams County, son of the late Thomas S and Anna (Keitel) Newman. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Biglerville, and had been a farmer most of his life in the area. In later years he was custodian of the Fairfield Area Schools.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alma Sowers, to whom he had been wed 56 years; and the following; Mrs. Ray Baldwin, Gardners R2; Paul G Newman, Jr., 212 W Middle St.; Clair E Newman, Levittown; Mrs. Charles Sterner, Biglerville; Dale C Newman, Gettysburg R2; Mrs. Gerald Nary, York; Herbert T Newman, Main St., Biglerville and Mrs. Robert Weikert, Fairfield.
In addition, 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren survive. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 fro the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with his pastor, Rev. Frederick S. Weiser, officiating. Interment will be in Flohr’s Church cemeter
