Eva Chitwood Addison, 93, of Toccoa, widow of Doyle W. Addison, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born April 7, 1913, in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Lon and Myrtie Foster Chitwood. She was a homemaker and a member of Toccoa Church of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Euline Johnson and Ophelia Fulbright and her husband, Dan, all of Toccoa; two sons, Melvin Addison of Martin and Artis Addison of Easley, S.C.; a brother, Hoyt Chitwood of Hartwell; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Addison and Edith Addison, both of Toccoa; three sisters-in-law, Eloise, Helen, and Ruth Chitwood, all of Hartwell; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, including Randall Addison, who is serving in Iraq; and, three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Burchell, Blant and Beck Addison, and two great-grandsons, Eria and Brandon.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Chitwood, the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and Eddie Addison officiated. Interment followed in Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Andy Childs officiating at the graveside.
Pallbearers were Mark Addison, Tony Addison, Eddie Addison Jr., Clayton Rider, Evan Rider, Billy Mote, Jamey Addison and Hunter Addison.
Whitlock Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
