W. Doyle Addison
W. Doyle Addison, 61, of Route 1, Mize Road, died Saturday morning at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Addison was born in Franklin County Oct. 10, 1910. A son of the late Lige and Emma Vaughn Addison and had lived all his life in Franklin and Stephens counties. He was a member of the Toms Creek Baptist Church and was employed for 33 years by Coats and Clark before retirement.
Survivors inc1ude his wife, Mrs. Eva Lee Chitwood Addison; five sons, Blant Addison, Beck Addison, Burchel Addison, Melvin Addison, Artis Addison all of Toccoa; two daughters, Mrs. Bill Johnson, Mrs. Dan Fulbright both of Toccoa; five brothers, Wilborn Addison of Toccoa, Early Addison, Bruford Addison both of Hartwell, Coy Addison of Lavonia, Curtis Addison of Anderson, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Lavern Altman of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Corine Bradley of Cannon, Ga., mother-in-law, Mrs. Myrtie Chitwood of Toccoa. 13 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday from the Church of God on South Pond Street with Rev. T.W. Waits, Rev. Melvin Timms, Rev. Gerald Bearden officiating. Burial was in the Stephens Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Herman Chitwood, Tom Caudell, Leon Addison, Herman Wood, Joe Chitwood and Bill Cash.
The Mathews Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
