ALTMAN, LaVerne LaVerne Opal Altman, 81, of North Charleston, SC, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2006. She was born on January 27, 1925, in Hartwell, Ga., daughter of the late Lidge and Emma Vaughn Addison. She was a homemaker and an avid dancer who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. LaVerne was a member of John's Island Baptist Church and was a supporter of the State Troopers Association and the Charles Webb Center. LaVerne is survived by one son, Richard Michael Hembree of N. Charleston, SC; two daughters, Robyn Milia and husband, William of N. Charleston, SC, and April Lee and husband Johnny of N. Charleston, SC; one brother, Wilborn Addison and wife, Georgie of Hartwell, Ga.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Bullard, one sister and five brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for LaVerne Altman at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2006, at the Palmetto Cremation Society, 11 Cunnington Ave., Charleston, SC.
