Klaus Asche, son of Weirt and Marie Hayerhorst Asche, passed away early Monday morning September 29, 1980 at the St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital at Mason City, Iowa. He had been a patient at the hospital for one week. Klaus was born January 14, 1899 in Forreston, Illinois and he was 81 years of age at the time of his death.

He was baptized and made a profession of faith and was an active member of the Kanawha Chrstian Reformed Church. He received his education inthe Illinois schools and when moving to Iowa with is parentsin 1913 he attended the rual schools near Kanawha, Iowa.

He was married to Alvina Pals, MArch 26, 1936 in the parsonage of the Immanuel Reformed Church at Belmond, Iowa. They farmed for six years in Wright County, then moved to a farm near Kanawha where they lived for more than 30 years. He retired from farming in 1964 and moved to Kanawha in 1975. Klaus' life was centered around farming and heenjoyed the many trips to the farm after retirement.

Klaus is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Doris Meyer and her husband Tim; two sons, Clarence and his wife Connie, Gerald Asche; three grandchildren, two brothers; Fred and his wife Ida Asche, Angle Asche; two sisters, Mrs. Freda TerHark, Mrs. Ten Hayjenga. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alvinain 1977, five brothers, Joseph, Louis, Ben, Tabb and Weirt andone sister Martha.
