OTTUMWA -- Irene Marie Brown, 80, of Ridgewood Care Center and formerly of 4 Hackworth Drive, died at 6 p.m. Dec. 13, 2002, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born Nov. 1, 1922, in Melrose to Martin George and Mary Jeanette Kosman Scieszinski. She married James A. Brown Feb. 7, 1948. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1993. She graduated from Melrose High School. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jo Brown and Judy Ann Brown, both of Ottumwa; a son, Donald E. Brown of Ottumwa; and two brothers, Edward A. Scieszinski of Bloomfield and Bernard Scieszinski of Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis A Scieszinski and a sister, Agnes Fuller.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. today (Monday) at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Christian Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
