Mrs. Scieszinski dies in Ottumwa

Mrs. Martin “Nettie” Scieszinski, 80, a resident of Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa for the past four and one-half years, died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa.

She was born Dec. 23, 1889 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Rouch Kosman. She was married in Ottumwa to Martin Scieszinski. He died in 1939. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, a son and six grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons, Louis of Melrose, Edward of Albia, and Bernard of Homewood, ILL., a daughter, Mrs. Irene Brown of Ottumwa, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, all of Ottumwa.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of Ottumwa.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church in Melrose with the Rev. Eugene H. Hoenig officiating. Burial will be Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at the Humeston Funeral Home.
