She was the daughter of John Anthony Hartlage (1884-1945) and his wife Carrie, nee Gardner (1888-1949). She first married Claude E. Pennington, who died in 1947. Thereafter she married Leslie E. Hagan, Jr.
Her September 28, 1967 Louisville Courier-Journal obituary:
Mrs. Leslie E. Hagan, 53, died of cancer at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Evangelical Hospital.
She was the former Garnetta B. Hartlage, and lived at 9910 Fireside Drive, in Valley Station.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Karen Keeling, Mrs. Linda Graf, Misses Margo and Janet Hagan; three sons, Robert Pennington of Lexington, Mich., and Michael and Larry Hagan, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Ratterman's, 3800 Bardstown Road, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
