Walter Bauder, 81, of Rock Valley, died Wednesday in a hospital in Rock Valley.

Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Peace Lutheran Church of rural Sioux Center. The Rev. Ronald Nelson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Family visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Bauder was born Sept. 28, 1903 in rural Sioux Center. He attended rural school in Garfield Township. He farmed on the family farm until retiring to Rock Valley in the mid 1970s.

He moved to Valley Manor Nursing Home in December, 1982. Mr. Bauder was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Clarence and Roy, both of Hawarden, and Art of Sioux Center; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Hevern and Mrs. Mabel Haag, both of Napa, California.
