Mrs. John Bauder, 98, of Hawarden died Friday, February 16, at a Hawarden nursing home.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Sioux Center. The Rev. James Frank officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home, Hawarden.

Mrs. Bauder, the former Amelia Pfarrer, was born April 19, 1880. She was married September 26, 1901, in Orange City. They farmed in Garfield Township, Sioux County, for many years. Her husband died October 15, 1950.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and had resided in Hillcrest Care Center since 1953.

Survivors include four sons, Walter of Rock Valley, Clarence and Roy, both of Hawarden, and Arthur of Sioux Center; three daughters, Mrs. Clem (Alma) Hevern of Napa, California, Mrs. Ed (Mabel) Haag of San Jose, California, and Mrs. Manard (Mildred) Ricklefs of Bettendorf; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Chesser of Spirit Lake and Mrs. Louisa Hofer of Chicago.
