The deceased was born Oct. 8, 1856 in Johnsburg, Ill., and when six months old, moved with his family to Johnsburg, Minn. There he grew to manhood, returning to this vicinity when he was nineteen.

Surviving are eight children: John, Joseph, Henry, Mrs. Anna Thennes, Mrs. Helen Heuser, Mrs. Emily Lawson and Miss Laura Weber, all of McHenry, and Mrs. Elizabeth Krause of Woodstock; also one sister, Mrs. Mary Sabel, of Adams, Minn.
Funeral services were held from St. Mary's church at 10 o'clock Monday morning, with interment in the church cemetery. Before last rites were conducted, the body was at rest at the Justen Brothers funeral home.
