Mrs. Mary Sabel, 84, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Kiefer, near Adams. She had been ill a short time.


Funeral services will be held Saturday morning.


Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sabel of Adams will be held at 9:30 a. m. Saturday at Sacred Heart church, Adams, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Adams Funeral home until 4:30 p. m. Friday, at which time the body will be taken to the William Kiefer home, near Adams. Rosary services will be at 8:30 p. m. Friday.


Mrs. Mary Sabel was born at Johnsburg, Minnesota, February 2nd, 1864, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Weber. She was raised in that community and remained there until November 27th, 1883 when she was married to Theodore Sabel at St. John's church, Johnsburg. For three years they made their home on a farm near Adams, then they moved into the Village of Adams where Mr. Sabel was in business for many years.


Mr. Sabel passed away December 22, 1943 and after his passing she made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Kiefer and Mrs. Diedrich. Oct. 3rd of this year she suffered a stroke from which she never recovered and passed away at the Kiefer home, Wednesday, October 14th at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 12 days.


The Sabels were blessed with two children, Mrs. Jack Diedrich of Albert Lea and Mrs. William Kiefer of Adams, who survive along with twelve grand children and 19 great grandchildren.


This couple had the pleasure of observing their golden wedding anniversary in 1933.


Mrs. Sabel had been a life long member of the Christian Mothers of the Sacred Heart church.


Funeral services were held Saturday morning, October 16th at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church here with the pastor Rev. Fr. Frisch officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the Sacred Heart cemetery.


The pallbearers were 4 grandsons, Roy, Vernon, Paul and William Kiefer Jr., and two great grandsons, William and Vernon Morgan.


Relatives from a way that attended the funeral were Mr. Henry Sabel Sr., Mr. Peter Sabel, Mr. and Mrs. Serva Sabel, Mrs. Henry Sabel Jr., Mrs. Al Diedrich of Johnsburg, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. John Tennes, Miss Laura Weber of McHenry, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Osmundson, Mrs. Gale Wobscholl of Albert Lea, Minn., Mrs. Marie Mullin, Marilyn and James of Minneapolis, William Kiefer Jr., of Winona, Mrs. Catherine Fink and Mrs. Steve Kloeckner, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Schmidt of Austin, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. White of Rose Creek.
