Canton-Catherine Lucille Ames, 102, died at 3:45am Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.
She was born on October 22, 1908 in Waterford Township to John and Cora Leer Gilson.
She married Robert Earl Ames in Peoria. He preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Marian (Late Ghlee) Watson of Canton, two grandchildren LuAnn Ward of Oregon, James (Tamara) Watson of Aurora, three great grandchildren Tiffany Ward, Nicole Watson, Cody Watson, and one great great grandchild Jayden. One nephew whom she raised, Mike Kelly, preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and attended the Waterford Union Church.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. The Rev. Judy Medler will officiate. Burial will be in the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.
