Ruth I. Briggs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, departed this life on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 to be with her Lord and Savior.
She was born April 21, 1929 in Lucas County, Iowa. Ruth loved to listen to music. She is preceded in death by her parents Rex and Mary Briggs, brothers Earnest and Rex Briggs, sisters Donna Briggs, and Yvonne Rutledge.
Ruth is survived by her husband Robert Carter, daughter Helen Marshall; sons Cliff Briggs, Kenny Hibbets, Larry Hibbets, and Mike Justice; sisters Louise Parker, Waunita Jones, and Colene Reynolds; brother Gene Briggs; 22 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Brown's Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Monday, April 18th at the funeral home.
