Final Rites Held for Mrs. Mattie Feis
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Feis, who died unexpectedly late Saturday night at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings were held Tuesday morning in the Butler-Volland Chapel and burial was in the Presbyterian cemetery near Campbell. Dr. Fay C. Mills, pastor of the First Methodist church (sic), Hastings, officiated.
Mrs. Feis, born at Campbell 71 years ago, was the widow of Henry C. Feis. They lived in the Bladen community for many years. Mrs. Feis moved to Hastings about 20 years ago and had been employed at the Hastings State Hospital until about a year ago when she retired. Although she had been in frail health lor some time her death was unexpected. She was a member of the first (sic) Methodist Church in Hastings.
She is survived by her daughters Mrs. Eldon Benker, Mrs. Ronald Paymal and Mrs. Melva Gartrell of Hastings; her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Loudy of Iliff, Colorado; her stepson, Wallace Feis of Kearney; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ed Kral of Bladen and Mrs. Howard Reed of Hastings; a brother, Oran Loudy of Kearney; and sisters, Mrs. John McDonald of Iliff, Colo., and Mrs. Myrtle Travis of Grand Island; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
