Wilbur Cole Bond
Native of Winsted Succumbs in Plattsburg, NY
Wilbur Cole Bond, a former Winsted resident, died yesterday at the Champlain Valley Hospital in Plattsburg, NY. He was 75 years old. He was the son of Valentine S. and Sara (Avery) Bond, and was born in Winsted.
He left Winsted 35 years ago, but is still remembered by many of his friends here.
He was a member of the famous Union Co. 1 running team which carried everything before it.
He is survived by four nieces and one nephew, Elliott Bond of Winsted, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. George Bond.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Jones Memorial Home, and burial will be in Forest View Cemetery. Rev. Edgar N. Jackson will officiate.
