Passed away suddenly Sunday, January 23, 2000, at his home. Age 48 years. He was born January 21, 1952 in Saginaw. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. He attended Delta College. He was employed in area machine shops as a toolmaker and grinder. He was an avid amateur radio operator and volunteered many hours. He married Bonnie Lawrence June 16, 1973; she survives him. He also leaves his son, Anthony Dreffs; six sisters, three brothers and their spouses, Susan Heath, Don and Marty Karpuck, Wilma and Phillip Rivera, Mary Wheeler; Sandy Dreffs, Albert and Beatrice Karpuk, Rose and Edward Dreffs, Diane and Robert Kane, Walter and Judy Dreffs; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Anthony Dreffs, his mother, Mary Romaine, two brothers, Edward and Andrew Karpuk Jr. and one sister, Helen Thompson. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2000 at the W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Barbara VanEssendelft will officiate with military burial in Owen Cemetery under the auspices of the Carrollton V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
