Pembroke - Mrs. Ella Waters Anderson, 86, died Sunday at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah after a short illness. The Bulloch County native received teachers training at the State Normal School in Athens in 1914. She was a charter member of the Pembroke Garden Club, serving twice as president. She served as chairman of awards in the Associated Garden Club of Southeast Georgia. She was also chairman of the Northside Cemetery Grounds and was awarded a life membership in the Georgia State Garden Club. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pembroke, serving as treasurer for 20 years. She was also secretary and chairman of the church grounds committee.

Surviving are her husband, L. M. Anderson of Pembroke; three sons, Heyward Anderson and L.M. "Red" Anderson Jr., both of Savannah, and Jack Anderson of Ludowici; three daughters, Mrs. Gloria Cirincione of Savannah, Mrs. Franceska Sanders of Richmond Hill and Mrs. Faye Hill of Pembroke; three brothers, Charles Waters of Boca Raton, Fla., Preston Waters of Bradenton, Fla., and Otis Waters of Statesboro; seven sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Eicholz and Mrs. Eula Mincey, both of Savannah, Mrs. Sara Morris of Statesboro, Mrs. Eunice Johnson, Mrs. Irma Griffin, and Mrs. Petunia Deloach, all of Statesboro, and Mrs. Mildred Welcher of Charlotte, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
