Alene G. Thompson Capps Urban, age 89, of Elwood, IN formerly of Monroe County passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Indiana.
She was born in Monroe County, KY on January 17, 1922 to the late Emmit Brance Thompson and Fannie Bell Cain Thompson. She married John E. Capps on July 3, 1937, he preceded her in death on May 14, 1984. She then married John E. Urban on August 2, 1991, who survives.
She is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law: William and Rebecca Capps of Elwood, IN, Donna Capps of Indianapolis, IN, two brothers: Wiley Thompson of Noblesville, IN, Estes Thompson of Indianapolis, IN, two sisters: Pearl McGuire of Noblesville, IN, Martha Cooper of Louisville, KY. 20 grandchildren. 35 great-grandchildren. 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by three sons: Ricky, Charles and Ollie Capps, three daughters: Carolyn (Capps) Gordon, Zora Bell and Clara Mahan, one sister: Roxie Spears, six brothers: Newman, Jess Frank, Marion, Miley, J.C. and Walter B. Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Bailey Cemetery.
