Virginia "Birdie" Nell Thomas, 87, of Jacksonville, died July 31, 2006, at Beauclerc Manor in Jacksonville. Mrs. Thomas was a native of Tompkinsville, Ky., and had resided in Jacksonville since 1992. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and she was of the Baptist faith.
Services: Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery.
Survivors: Her daughters, Loretta Losco, Lunda Hall and Greta Losco, all of Jacksonville; son, Daniel Thomas, Jacksonville; sisters, Flora Bowman, California, and Ruth Clayton, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomas.
