Derald Park Romney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, died September 15, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah, following a heart attack.

Born December 19, 1914 in Cornish, Utah to Park and Vilate Lee Romney. Moved to Salt Lake City at an early age, where he attended grade school, high school and graduated from the University of Utah. Attended Harvard School of Business and received his MBA.

Was employed by Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York during World War II. Became manager of Lumber Products, Inc. in Portland, Oregon in 1946. Moved to Spokane, Washington in 1951 to become manager of Spokane Casket Company, later a co-owner, as well as co-owner of Mountain States Casket Company, in Salt Lake City. In addition to his business successes, he served on the Advisory Board of Washington Mutual Savings Bank of Spokane, also on the Cemetery Board, Spokane Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of Rotary International.

He married Susan Jacobs in 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He filled a mission for the LDS Church in the Southern States and has served as a branch president, stake M.I.A. superintendent, High Councilman, bishop, president of Spokane Stake for 17 years, a regional representative and patriarch.

Derald is survived by his wife; three sons and two daughters, Jeffrey (Karen) Romney, Dr. Fred and Jacqueline Kotter, Gerald and Susan Coleman, Dr. Douglas P. (Marcy) Romney, Richard Lee (Marcy) Romney; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18th, at 12 Noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m., and Saturday one hour prior to services.

Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn.
