Deone E. Rogers, 84, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009, at a local care center.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at the Emmett LDS Stake Center in Emmett. Burial was at the Emmett Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
Deone was born Nov. 6, 1924, at American Fork, Utah. She grew up in Utah and later moved to Emmett with her parents. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. Deone served as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Colorado/New Mexico Mission. After returning to Emmett, she worked as a nurses aid at Mary Secor Hospital.
On April 14, 1952, she married Willis E. Rogers in Boise, Idaho, and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was active in her church callings until her health would not permit her to do so.
Survivors include her husband, Willis of Emmett; a son, Jim (Hyon) Rogers of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Colleen (Merlen) Means of Nampa, Idaho, Maridee (Mark) Ahrens of Mountain Home, Idaho and Vicki (Quin) Preston of Parma, Idaho; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
