DeEsta Larsen was born 21 April 1928 at her parents home in Ririe, Jefferson, Idaho. She was 7th of the 8 children born to Ephraim Larsen (1890-1966) and Irene Pearl Call Larsen (1893-1979). Siblings: Calvin Ephraim Larsen (1916-1992), Thama [Larsen] Pugmire/Brown (1917-1997) Mathew Eric Larsen (1919-1987), Ross Call Larsen (1922-1997), Dorothy [Larsen] Rowland (1924-2013), Ardith Larsen (1926-1928) and Shirley [Larsen] Salvesen (1931-2020). DeEsta was raised in Ririe, Idaho and she attended schools there, graduating from Ririe High School in 1946. After graduation, she went to Montpelier, Idaho to be with her sister, Thama. It was there that she met Vernest Eugene "Gene" Windley (1926-1966) and they were married in the L.D.S Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. DeEsta and Gene were the parents of two children; Marsha Ann Windley (1948-2020) and Michael Eugene Windley (1949-2008). The early years of their marriage they lived in Montpelier but Gene started work for the Morrison Merrill Co. in 1955 in Pocatello, Idaho so DeEsta and Gene moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1956 so they could be closer to DeEsta's parents who still lived in Ririe. They later moved to Boise, Idaho. Gene was only 38 years of age when he had a massive heart attack and unexpectedly passed away 27 May 1966 and DeEsta was suddenly a very young widow. It was not long before DeEsta met another "Gene". She and Julius Eugene Rousey (1917-1994) were married in 1967. She and Gene lived in Tacoma, Washington for many years. DeEsta had a great passion for family history work and she spent countless hours researching and collecting information and putting together books to document the lives of her family members. She passed quietly away on Wednesday, 9 September 2020 at the Care Center in Downey, Bannock County, Idaho. She was laid to rest next to her first husband Eugene Windley in the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, Rich, Utah on Monday, 14 September 2020.
