My mother remarried after my father's death and her marker says Ada Kate Ford.
We lived in Laurel where my parents worked at Laurel Cotton Mill until about 1944 when we moved to Meridian, MS. I graduated from meridian High School with honors in 1947, attended one year at Meridian Junior College and went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Co.
After working there one year, I married Jesse Winston (Buddy) Price on August 3, 1949 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS., Rev. Duncan Hobart performed the Marriage ceremony.
Buddy was in the U.S. Navy at the time. We lived for a few months in Alameda, CA. After discharged from the Navy we made our home in Toomsuba and have been here ever since. We had three children, Jesse Alan Price, Jeffrey Burt Price and Lu Ann Price. We had 8 grandchildren, one of whom is deceased.
I belong to Toomsuba Baptist Church and am a member of the Samuel Dale Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution, with 4 proven A.R. ancestors.
I retired from the Mississippi State Employment Service in January 1989 with 21 years service. He retired from the Mississippi Power Co. in Dec. 1988 with 35 years service.
I consider myself wonderfully blessed to have enjoyed 60 years of marriage and 20 years of retirement with the man I love.
