Adron Clarence Burt was the second child born to
Odis Clarence Burt and Ada Kate Fitzgerald Burt.
The first child, Iris Yvonne Burt died as an infant. Another child, Emma Lou Burt would be born in 1929. She is the writer of this tribute her beloved brother.
Adron grew up in Laurel, moved to Meridian, MS during WWII. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served honorably stateside as a Hospital Corspman.
It was here that he realized his calling to the medical field. He was a member of the first class to graduate a male nurse at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama and won the Florence Nightingale Award for the highest grade average in his class. Dorothy Scott who would later become Adron's wife was also a nursing student at Carraway Methodist Hospital. Adron and Dot married
12 August 1950 in Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS.
After working several years as a Registered Nurse, Adron went back to school and specialized in Anesthesia and became a registerd Nurse Anesthetist.
Adron and Dot had 2 children, a daughter Sarah
Katherine (Kathi) Burt and a son Michael Scott Burt.
